      Welcome to Desert Sun Pygmies

I first Started in pygmies in 1989 while living in Arizona with 1 wether named pig. From there, along with the help of some very special friends in Arizona, I made some very selective purchases and started off on a breeding program. In fall of 1994, my husband retired and we moved up to Klamath Falls, Oregon where my goats and I, had to make some adjustments to weather. I now have a herd of about 50 to 60 registered pygmy goats. I specialize in the dark red caramel color but have some equally beautiful pygmies of other colors as well.

I am a current member of Sierra Pacific Pygmy Goat Assoc., Southern Pygmy Goat Club, Rocky Mountain Pygmy goat Club, and National Pygmy Goat Association. I attend many shows in California, Oregon, and Idaho exhibiting my goats and visiting with friends. In November of 1997, I  became an NPGA Licensed Pygmy Goat Judge giving me the opportunity to travel to many new places, meeting exhibitors,  making new friends and seeing some beautiful registered pygmy goats. NPGA has grown so much since I first became a member and they are still growing. My place is always open to visitors and if your here in klamath Falls, Oregon, or traveling through, please give me a call and stop by for a visit.

I first started showing seriously in 1991 and immediately got hooked on the friendship, support group, and atmosphere of the show ring and met so many wonderful families showing their goats. I have over the years won many Championships with my pygmy goats  which are too numerous to mention. Below are just a select few of some of my goats that have won and some from my herd owned by others that have won. I would say one of my first wins was with Ludtke Ranches Charlie Brown, a dark caramel buck, who won 2 grand championships. This buck was the herd sire that started my breeding program and helped me develop a strong gene pool for the red caramels. Next was PGCH Bizzy Acres Beau (red Caramel Buck) who I finished. A doe that had a big impact on my herd was 1X Grand Champion Orange Blossom Hershey, who I still own and she is 14 yrs old and going strong..
